High Performance Computing Symposium 2001
Grand Challenges in Computer Simulation [HPC]

Special Track on
"Petri Nets in HPC and Performance Evaluation in HPC"

April 22nd-26th, 2001
Renaissance Madison Hotel
Seattle, Washington, U.S.A.

HPC 2001 will include a special track on ,Petri Nets in HPC and Performance Evaluation in HPC`. The High Performance Computing 2001 is the ninth special symposium devoted to the impact of High Performance Computing and Computer Simulation. It is part of the 2001 Advanced Simulation Technology Conference (ASTC 2001) organized by The Society for Computer Simulation, SCS (for more information see http://www.scs.org/) and supported by the German Informatics Society (Gesellschaft für Informatik), GI (for more information see http://www.gi-ev.de).

The goal of the special sessions is to discuss new theoretical and practical developments in the area of Petri nets and/or performance evaluation related to HPC. After the success of the Petri net and performance sessions during the HPC`98, HPC`99, and HPC 2000 conferences, the presentation of the advantages in the use of Petri net based formal methods and in the performance evaluation of high performance computer systems will be a part of the HPC 2001 symposium. It will be shown how such methods can encourage innovation in high performance computing technologies and how their use can make system design more effective especially for large applications. Last but not least the exchange of ideas and information among universities, industry, and national laboratories in this field will be promoted.

Topics of interest include:

(but are not limited to)

Prospective authors are invited to submit full papers describing their work in these areas. Each contribution will be reviewed by at least two members of the below listed track program committee:
